Zelie Pollon is a freelance
writer based in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
She writes regularly for Reuters, People
magazine and the Dallas Morning News. She has also done work for
the New York Times, Hooked On The Outdoors, the Santa Fean and Working
Woman magazine, among others.
She was a founding board member of the Independent Press Association,
which supports independent media nationwide. Her translation from
French to English of The Essential Teachings of the Dalai Lama was
published by North Atlantic Books in 1995.
She has continually been fascinated with and written about personal
stories
from Mexico to Cuba, the U.S., Burma and modern-day Vietnam. This
was her
first experience in a war zone. |

Laurent Guerin is a freelance
photojournalist based in Taos, New Mexico.
From the civil war in Beirut in the early 80's to Nicaragua, Chiapas,
and the Middle East, Guerin has documented the human condition.
For three years he covered the Israel-Palestine conflict on assignment
for
Time magazine international edition, The Washington Post and The Chicago
Tribune. He was a contributing photographer for the "The Foreign
Game" an investigative report by The Dayton Daily News which
was nominated as a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 2002. |
